One of the best ways to learn network analysis is to do network analysis. The workshop will take the attendee through a series of "labs" using example data. Below you will find links to various labs that align with the training modules. Labs include an overview, example, data, and code.

module 1 lab

These labs explore basic network concepts as well as provide an introduction to R and RStudio for those users that opt to use that software solution. Click on the links below for lab materials.
  • General Introduction: Slides and Notes
  • A screencast movie of presentation.
  • An Introduction Lab: Some Key Concepts
  • An Introduction to R and RStudio
  • An Introduction Lab (with code) for R and Rstudio

module 2 lab

module 3 lab

module 4 lab

The Module 2 Lab explores the ins-and-outs of network data giving extensive examples in both the RStudio and SafetyNET software.
  • Introduction to Network Data: Slides and Notes
  • A screencast of presentation.
  • Data Lab: Key Concepts
  • Data Lab: RStudio
  • Data Lab: SafetyNET
The Module 3 Lab reviews the basic concepts around network visualization.
  • Introduction to Visualization: Slides and Notes
  • Visualization Lab: Key Concepts
  • Visualization Lab: RStudio
The Module 4 Lab covers more advanced topics aimed at applying more advanced network analytic techniques to example (and real) data.
